Commissions
Why a Commission?
What is more special than investing in yourself and a small studio artist to create a piece of jewellery, hand made for you? One with your hand directly guiding the design process? There is nothing quite like it.
I have 10 years experience working in my field creating tanglible, boldly tactile textures based on the natural world with a focus on water. Watercourses, geographic locations across the UK and treasured folk tales across British history. When you commission work you get something magical and unique to wear for life.
How to start a commission?
If you’re after a bespoke piece of jewellery then get in touch here to send me an initial email and we can arrange a meeting. We can chat over the phone or via video consultation to go over your ideas.
Consultation:
We will discuss your ideas, your vision and any images you may have collected for inspiration. I will put together some notes, images and drawings, we can discuss what you're drawn to and how we are going to move forward. If you decide to go ahead with a ring and don’t know your ring size then you will be sent a ring sizer so we have a clearer idea of what will fit and suit you best. A guide to ring sizing can be found in my FAQ.
Design Process:
After we conclude the consultation I will take the concept and develop the design using images, references and research we will have discussed and if there hasn’t been a solid design settled on I will create a couple of varied designs to show you to choose from. When the designs are prepared we can have a second consultation to finalise the design of your piece and set it in stone. There will be room to make one or two very minor adjustments but the idea should now be ready to go into production.
When we have settled on a design then we can move to the production of your custom piece of jewellery!
I can start the creation process of building your design in wax all the while keeping you updated with progress images.
When the carving is complete I will send the wax off to be cast and then sent off to the London Assay Office to be assayed and hallmarked before returning to me to be finished in my studio.
The final piece will be packaged and sent off via recorded delivery by Royal Mail which when sent should arrive the next working day by 1pm.
Lead Times:
Bespoke work takes time to complete to the absolute best standards so orders will take between 6-8 weeks from start to finish, given all goes smoothly. If you are looking to get a piece created for a special occasion please let me know in your first email and I will see if there is space and time to work to a shorter timeline though this is not always possible.

Prices:
Bespoke designs will vary in price. It depends on the size, the weight and how complex the design is. The larger it is the heavier and more expensive it will be, the more complex something is the longer it takes to produce but when buying a one off design all of these elements work together to create something incredible. A piece of art you can carry with you forever.

Sharing the work:
Naturally I like to share my work online and that means having photos of commissions in progress. I share images on Instagram, Threads and Facebook as well as potentially sharing video on these platforms as well as TikTok. I will always be happy to keep a secret if the commission you've ordered is supposed to be a present or is wedding jewellery and you rather it not be released until after the big day, just let me know in the intial email or consultation.
